OUR SCHOOL

Program Director

Hired as a teacher of the deaf in 1969 (by then director, Lois Tarkanian), Linda Hyde brought experience from the private and public sectors of education.  Most noteworthy, her efforts in facilitating a pilot program in Las Vegas that mainstreamed deaf preschoolers into hearing classrooms.  Mrs. Hyde has been trained in speech and auditory development, learning disabilities, language disorders and holds credentials in speech correction-lip reading and learning handicaps in addition to her deaf ed credential.  Linda’s extensive professional experience expands over 40 years.  She has presented courses, workshops and teacher-in services in speech development, aural habilitation, mainstreaming, LING speech curriculum, social interaction skills, early childhood development and cognition in the classroom.

Educational Audiologist/Parent-Infant Therapist

Linda Dinow has worked her “magic” with the youngest of Oralingua’s students for many years.  Hired as a teacher of the deaf in 1970, Linda found her niche with the babies in 1971 when she became a parent-infant therapist.  In 1975, she received a Master’s in Audiology and assumed the position of school audiologist.  Presently, she sees parents and their infants for one:one tutoring.  Infants are amplified with hearing aids or cochlear implants early on.  They become accustom to sound and learn how to play with their voices.  Parents learn how to interact with their young children in an effort to develop listening and language through everyday activities.  Linda has participated and presented at conferences, workshops and conventions such as the American Academy of Audiology, the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and the American Speech and Hearing Association.
