A 12-year-old boy was hospitalized after getting struck by a car while riding an e-bike in Anaheim Sunday night, Nov. 23, and police were searching for several people who ran from the car, authorities said.

Anaheim police were called to East North Street and North Topeka Street about 8:45 p.m., Sgt. Matt Sutter said.

The boy suffered a broken leg and bruises.

Police believe the driver ran a stop sign and continued driving for about a block after the crash, eventually ditching the car, Sutter said.

Investigators were searching for the driver and an unknown number of passengers, Sutter said.

The crash occurred in a residential area just south of La Palma Avenue.

A Honda sedan with front-end damage and a smashed windshield ended up against a parked car.
