Irvine’s Summer Wilson, Trabuco Hills’ girls team compete in prestigious Nike Cross Nationals

San Clemente's boys team finished 15th in the team standings

Irvine High’s Summer Wilson added to her outstanding senior year by finishing in 23rd-place in the Nike Cross Nationals on Saturday in Portland, Ore.

Wilson’s time over the 5,000-meters course was 17 minutes, 49.7 seconds. Natasza Dudek, a sophomore from Pioneer High in Ann Arbor, Mich., won in 16:50.1.

The Trabuco Hills girls team finished 11th in the team standings and JSerra’s girls finished 21st.

San Clemente’s boys were 15th in the team standings, led by Yohan Anderson’s 71st-place finish. His San Clemente teammates Mattheus Dos Santos and Magnus Johansson were 104th and 105th, respectively. Anderson, Dos Santos and Johansson are juniors.

Woodbridge junior Aidan Antonio finished 109th.

The event is considered the unofficial national championship for high school cross country and it annually attracts many of the top distance runners and teams in the nation.
