Exhibitors create couture for Festival of Arts runway show

They are artists, they paint and draw, sculpt and create, but are they fashionistas?

A tradition of the summertime Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach is a fashion show featuring festival exhibitors trying their hand at upcycling to create clothing for the runway. Awards and bragging rights were at stake.

For the first time this year, junior artists joined in, creating their own couture.

Special Recognition Award: Junior Artist Makanna Johnson was recognized for her contribution to the idea of including Junior Artists in the Festival Runway Fashion Show and her incredible gown, “The Dream Set.”

The festival partners with Working Wardrobes on the event, and guests who brought gently used clothing for donation to the nonprofit that helps people get ready and dressed for a return to the workforce received free admission.
