Noteworthy: He scored four goals and had two steals in the Sailors’ 10-3 win over Corona del Mar in the CIF-SS Open Division championship game. Kaneko also scored three goals in Newport Harbor’s 19-11 victory over Mira Costa in the semifinals. The Sailors (30-1) have won 16 boys water polo championships in the section’s top division.
